Changing directories is not working

I can go to one level only from the root, after that the folders or directories do not exist! It happens in every subfolder from bin to var, whether I was super user or not.

You shouldn't use a leading slash / for directories or files in the current directory. See http://en.flossmanuals.net/command-line/index/
