Installing via text makes wifi not work

When I used the GUI installation I had no problems with my usb wifi device. When I installed from text so I can use an encrypted LVM it took much longer (I believe it download everything and did not use the ISO) and would no longer work with my usb wifi device.

How do I install the wifi driver and check/install drivers for my hardware so I get acceleration?

This is because the netinstall ISO is supposed to be minimal while the other method is more "kitchen sink." You probably want the open-ath9k-htc-firmware package.
