Thinkpad X230
OS boot (libreboot)
8GB RAM, 11.0.1 Aramo 64-bit, Kernel Linux 5.15.0-179-generic x86_64, MATE 1.26.0,
intel® Core™ i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz × 4

Hello, I use rythmnbox for online radio, podcasts and playing stored music on HD. Two or three times this year it has become locked in a short audio loop. When this happens everything freezes, no buttons work and the battery/power needs to be removed and replaced to then restart the system.

Any idea why this can happen in rythmnbox and I guess pulseaudio to lock the whole system ?

Should add that it did it today when streaming a podcast with Rythmnbox.

I think it is a libreboot problem. I had a similar problem with my x200 that has a much older version of Libreboot from 2021 I think. I should install another version of either gnuboot or canoeboot on it to see it improves the situation.

I do not see this happening on my other computers that have the proprietary BIOS. I would play movies with mpv and it would give me those freaky moments of audio. Which Libreboot version do you use?

Hello, the version in use is osboot from 2021 (libreleah). I wouldn't know how to reinstall a boot loader as it's a bit too technical. Thanks.
